Young American Enjoys Success at World Festival of Circus Arts in Moscow

Unicyclist Wesley Williams represented the United States at the 2019 World Festival of Circus Art “IDOL” in Moscow, Russia. Only 20 of the best acts from around the world were chosen to perform at this prestigious circus competition.  Out of all the acts that participated Williams received one of the highest honors, The Main Prize Bronza “Idol.”  When asked how he felt after receiving the award he said, “In all honesty it was an honor just to be invited to the competition.  Although it was a super sweet feeling to see that all my blood, sweat, and tears and years of preparation for this moment paid off.”


Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour Auditions NOW OPEN

Each year since 1987, the award-winning Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour showcases 30 young performers in a traditional traveling circus. These young performers hail from across the U.S. and the world, perform 60-70 shows in New England from June through August, and bring the circus arts to over 50,000 people as they perform to sell-out crowds under our unique big top tent.  Who Can Apply: Youth ages 10-18 trained in circus, gymnastics, dance, theater or other physical disciplines, with strong teamwork skills, excellent stage presence, and interest in traditional circus arts, are encouraged to apply!  Video audition required – click here for more information. Peddling Pedal Punk

Los Angeles, Sept 23, 2019 – Michael Picton has just released the soundtrack to the Cirque Mechanics show Pedal Punk. Pedal Punk received rave reviews for its Off-Broadway run at the New Victory Theatre “Pedal Punk offers a spectacular ride for hipsters and pipsqueaks alike.” – Time Out NY

Pedal Punk is a soundtrack for the steampunk acrobats of Cirque Mechanics where the music comes from bicycles, trampolines, gears, prepared and un-prepared pianos, squeaky wheels, chrome, rubber, nylon, and steel. The music takes a musique concrête approach to using acoustic mechanical sounds as the raw material of an eclectic and expressive score with styles ranging from lyrical solo piano pieces to electro swing, carnival music, tango, EDM and more.

Pedal Punk is available to download and stream from all major online music outlets including Bandcamp, CD Baby, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and Amazon Music. A physical CD will be available to order on October 10, 2019 from both Bandcamp and CD Baby.
